What is Lazonyx?

Lazonyx is a retro arcade-style 2d single-screen platformer with movable platforms. The goal is to shoot the enemies, and collect the rings that they drop. The rings needs to find their way to the collection point at the bottom of the screen.

Is it playable?

Yes. It was created as an entry for the 2017 #GitHubGameOff and is a fully-playable and enjoyable prototype in its current stage. 

Is it being developed further?

Yes. Early play tests have revealed that gamers enjoy the game a lot and would love a more advanced and varied version of the game with more attention paid to the artwork and sound effects. There are plans to take the prototype and develop it into a full-featured, cross-platform indie game that will give players many hours of enjoyment.

Why buy now if it's going to get better?

By buying the game now, you will be getting immediate access to a fun game that will expand further over time. All future updates will be free to early-access players, even if the price increases. On top of that, you will be supporting an indie developer who's main focus is on creating quality gaming experiences for players.

What about the art?

Given the short time frame (30 days) to make this prototype, almost all energy was focussed on creating a truely enjoyable gameplay experience  A decision was made to use a minimal art style to afford as much time for that as possible. Now that the gameoff is over, the art is being re-worked from the ground up to create something that really does the game justice. I love the music. Where did it come from?

The fantastic music was composed for this game by Dervish Capkiner,  a Scottish composer who after years of commercial film work has started to add game soundtracks to his areas of interest. If you purchase the game with the soundtrack option, you will receive all copies of the game (forever - including future updates) and full-length versions of the music tracks used in the game.
